On our way home we stopped for the local staple shwarma - shredded beef in pita.....the boys love it.
A family of 5 journeying from Australia to Israel to connect with family, to fill our spirits, to feel the energy of the holy land, to embrace change, to receive the place our journey takes us, to trust in what it will bring with open hearts.

Tiberias & shwarma
Yesterday we went to Tiberias. Looking out at the sea of galilee it's impossible for me not to think of all the biblical stories associated with the place - Jesus walking on the water, the multiplication of loaves, John the Baptist bapitising Jesus etc etc. These stories of the Gospel make it a very important pilgrimage site for Christians but its also a very holy land and pilgrimage site for the Jewish aswell. Alot of rabbis are buried there, and the Mishnah which is the Oral Jewish Law was also completed in Tiberias.
